A Year?

I'm not dead.

I just spent the last year not doing a whole lot. I was reeling from literal heartbreak this time last year as I heavily hinted at in the last post I made back in February 2023. To finally elaborate, someone I'd become increasingly fond of decided she didn't want to talk to me anymore somewhat randomly so I lost all interest in most of my hobbies and just mooched around feeling sorry for myself. I carried on going to work and doing the bare minimum to survive but I essentially let myself run on autopilot for many months, allowing everything else to take a backseat. This included repairing my car; which I'd taken off the road not long after I last posted in fact as it needed some major repair work doing to the bodywork and a few other bits and pieces. I finally got that sorted out this week so it "only" took me just shy of a year to get it sorted out (yikes).

My attempt at vlogging and making memes on a popular social media platform has fallen flat on its face, as I've gone from getting hundreds to thousands of views on my videos only a few months ago to… Upwards of 20 per video all of a sudden. Woohoo. On the positive side at least I had some meager success with some videos, unlike my let's plays on YouTube which rarely go above 20 views per video (and I've posted close to a hundred now). It's all very disheartening really; you lose the love of your life and then every attempt at being creative just fails time and time again. I'm clearly just not interesting or quirky enough on any platform to garner any kind of popularity. Do I really care though? No. And I'll just carry on regardless. Though this site will probably continue to be a background project.

Oh well, hopefully my next post won't be a year in the making like this one was.
