So back in August, my Stadia Pro subscription ended (which I'd had for free since April, I got a one month free trial from Google and another three months free on top of it from a promotion Lenovo did). When that happened I decided I wasn't impressed with the games on offer, so deleted my account. But don't get me wrong, I had written earlier in the year when I first tried Stadia that I actually quite liked it; I thought the stream quality was OK and that it certainly had a place in this world and this fact hasn't changed. I do still like Stadia, I just didn't think it was for me.
Well, recently Google ran a promotion that gives you a voucher for a free Stadia Premier Edition (sent by email at some point after the promotion ends up to the 20th October) if you buy a game or bundle on Stadia that's worth $59.99 (£49.99), or pre-order a game or bundle of that value provided it launches on Stadia by the 10th. So yes, given I was actually looking at buying a Chromecast Ultra anyway, I jumped in on this. And here I am again with a new Stadia account with Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition.
I do so hope I won't regret this. On the positive side, it'll give me something new to play with (yes, I haven't actually played RDR2 yet) which may lead to something vaguely interesting getting written on here finally. Although don't hold your breath.
