I may have mentioned before that I love Cyberpunk 2077, despite all its initial faults. So one thing that has annoyed me about the PC version is the 'Rewards' DLC that was offered to people who installed the game via GOG Galaxy. Now while the DLC is free and neither it nor the game technically contains any DRM, some consider the fact the DLC is gated behind the Galaxy Client as a form of DRM. Unfortunately although GOG has always claimed to be DRM-Free, they have a history of occasionally being liberal with what they consider 'Digital Rights Management' to actually mean. But that's a topic for another day…
It turns out you can actually install this DLC (or rather activate it) without the Galaxy Client at all. I've only just discovered this fact thanks to a user that posted this handy trick way back in December 2020. Anyway, here's how you do it:
GameServicesGOG.DLL
in [path-to game]\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64
and either rename it or move it somewhere safe (e.g. onto the Desktop). My Rewards
button on the bottom right of the main menu, a URL and QR Code will be displayed.Claim Rewards
.GameServicesGOG.DLL
to what/where it was originally. You may not necessarily need to do this, but I did just in case it caused issues with the game (such as when it gets updated). Note that doing this will revert the My Rewards
button back to stating you need to log into GOG Galaxy when you click on it, but the rewards will remain unlocked and usable in-game.The great thing about this is it should also work (although I've not tested it for obvious reasons) with any PC version of the game, so even if you bought it on Steam, Epic Games or Humble Bundle you can have this small and somewhat shit (but most importantly free) selection of items too.
